Venezuela striker Giancarlo Maldonado has warned pre-match favourites Chile that history will count for little ahead of tomorrow's Copa America quarter-final clash in San Juan.
Venezuela, who are looking to reach the semi-final of the competition for the first time, have a miserable record against the Chileans down the years, losing 15 of 21 clashes and winning just once - a World Cup qualifier in 2001.
However, Maldonado said: "This is a different came and it matters little what happened in past encounters. We're ready for any opponent and we know what we're playing for.
